How to turn off annoying Google AI answers (chrome)

Image
Google recently announced that it will include AI features in its search engine, such as AI overview and AI mode. However, it seems like AI Overview does not always respond perfectly, and on top of that, it appears before normal search results, so it's no wonder that many users (including me) didn't like this new feature. Luckily there is a very easy fix for this problem, you need to install a chrome extension called Bye Bye, Google AI , and you're done! This extension even allows you to customize what you want, or don't want to see. This extension is currently not avaible on Firefox, but you can search for alternatives.

Windirstat: free storage analyzer for Windows!

Image
Have you ever tried to find a solution to the problem of your disks constantly filling up with unnecessary data? In this post, I will show you WinDirStat , a free and open source software that will (most likely) find a solution to this problem, by analyzing the data of used space on your disks. WinDirStat can create a so called "treemap" , where every file on your disk is represented by a colored rectangle. It can be super useful because you can easily find large files that you've long forgotten about and are still taking up storage space. You can download WinDirStat here . It only works on Windows, but you can find alternatives if you have a different OS.

How to easily add uBlock origin to chrome in 2025!

Recently, Google made a decision that many people didn't like: it removed the ability to download the popular adblocker uBlock origin from the Chrome extensions store. In this article I will show you how you can add this extension back to Google Chrome. Go to:  https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock Click on releases Scroll down to assets, then download the chromium zip. Put the .zip file somewhere where you're sure you won't accidentally delete it (for me it's the desktop) then unzip it there Open chrome's extension manager tab In the extension manager tab, cilck the developer mode switch on Click on the "load unpacked" button then pick the previously unzipped folder called "uBlock0.chromium" (if your unzipped folder is called "uBlock0_1.64.0.chromium", then go in it and there should be the "uBlock0.chromium" folder) And that's it! You can now use uBlock in Google Chrome! Sidenote: When you restart chrome it will want you to ...

Everything: The best searching tool for Windows!

Image
A lot of people don't know, but the default (windows file manager) file search function is very slow compared to other software, and (for me) it can even force windows explorer to restart sometimes when I'm working around with older hard drives, so here is a solution that will fix all of these problems: the search tool called Everything! It can be easily said, that this search tool is more than 10x faster than windows file explorer search. Everything 1.5 Alpha For download, I'd recommend the 1.5 alpha version, because it has dark theme, and other useful features. 1.5 alpha download:  https://www.voidtools.com/everything-1.5a/ Main download page (other versions):  https://www.voidtools.com/downloads/
